Ashley Thompson is a Visual Artist and Art Educator from Trinidad & Tobago with a passion for creating social change through the arts. She is a member of the Global Shapers Port of Spain hub, and a group called IAMovement. Through this group, she has coordinated events in the fields of education and empowerment for high-risk youth, and environmental awareness for the wider public through IAMovement’s annual Climate Change March, an education program entitled “Climate Talk”, and a documentary produced by the group entitled “Small Change”.

She has led a number of community-based Mural projects with the goal to inspire youth and other community members to gain a sense of pride in themselves and their home communities.

Ashley holds a B.A. in Studio Art and a B.A. in Communications from the College of St. Benedict & St. John’s University in Minnesota. She is has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Trinidad & Tobago and the United States.
